VIPERS ADD DESURE BUIE

EDINBURG, Texas (Friday, Feb. 19, 2021) – The Rio Grande Valley Vipers announced today the addition of guard Desure Buie from the player pool for the 2021 NBA G League season.

Buie (5-11, 160) went undrafted in the 2020 NBA Draft. He previously spent his collegiate career at Hofstra University where he averaged 18.2 points, 3.7 rebounds, 5.9 assists and 2.0 steals in 37.3 minutes of action as a senior. Buie shot 44.8% from the field while shooting 41.7% from beyond the arc.

The rookie was named to NABC All-District (10) First Team, All-CAA First Team, CAA Tournament MVP, CAA All-Tournament Team and CAA All-Defensive Team in 2020 while being named to a pair of CAA Player of the Week honors. In 2019, Buie was also named to All-CAA Third Team, CAA Defensive POY, CAA All-Defensive Team and a pair of CAA Player of the Week honors.

With the addition of Buie, the Vipers have waived forward Josh Huestis due to a season ending injury.
