In abundance of caution and to remain aligned with the health and safety measures in the Rio Grande Valley, auditions for the 2020-2021 Vipers Entertainment Teams will be held virtually. The Snake Charmers and Venom Hype Squad is looking for talented individuals to perform at games, appearances, and events across the Rio Grande Valley and we can't wait to get our season started! We want to ensure you have all of the tools and information necessary for a successful audition so please review the information below carefully.
Eligibility Requirements
- Must be 18 years old by December 15th, 2020; there is no maximum age
- Must have a high school diploma or GED
- Must be available for weekly rehearsals, a minimum of 7 community appearances and 20 out of 24 home games
- Have own reliable transportation
- Snake Charmer candidates must be available for rehearsals Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6-8pm, starting at the end of September 2020
Timeline
- August 24, 2020: Virtual audition application and Freestyle video submission opens
- August 28, 2020: Virtual audition application closes at 11:59PM CT
- August 31, 2020: Round 1 Choreography released
- September 4, 2020: Round 1 video submissions due by 11:59PM CT
- September 8, 2020: Zoom interviews will be scheduled with finalists
Snake Charmer Audition and Photo Attire
- Midriff top (sports bra, audition top, bra top)
- Dance shorts (no leggings) and tights
- Sneakers or dance boots
- Performance quality hair and makeup (no ponytails)
Hype Squad Audition and Photo Attire
- Leggings, pants or shorts (no jeans)
- Tank top, t-shirt (not too baggy)
- Sneakers
Required Items for Open Audition
- 1 minute freestyle video
- 1 current photo can be head shot or full body
- Resume (dance resume and professional resume)
- Virtual audition application and audition waiver/agreement
Video Requirements
- Video must be shot horizontally
- Video must be uploaded in full quality
- Video must not be edited or spliced in any way and must be filmed in one take
- Video must show clear view of full body at all times
- Music for freestyle must be the song provided
- For Snake Charmers: Freestyle can be jazz or hip hop
- For Venom Hype Squad: Freestyle must be hip hop, breakdancing, urban or something similar
