WASHINGTON’S CAREER-HIGH LEADS VIPERS IN LEGENDARY WIN

Frisco, Texas (Nov. 25, 2022) – The Rio Grande Valley Vipers (4-3) obtained a 133-106 win against the Texas Legends (5-4) on Friday night at Comerica Center. 

The Legends quickly picked up a 5-0 lead in the first quarter, but with 10 minutes still remaining the Vipers tied the match 7-7. After that, RGV hit the ground running and took the lead for the remainder of the quarter. At the end of the first the Vipers led 41-28 with Houston Rockets assignment TyTy Washington Jr. putting up 19 out of the 41 points. 

As the second quarter commenced the Vipers continued to extend its lead. At the half RGV had a 71-59 advantage over Texas. Dallas Mavericks assignment Jaden Hardy, Dallas Mavericks Two-Way players Mckinley Wright IV and Tyler Dorsey accounted for 41 of the 59 points scored for the Legends. 

With 7:44 left in the third the Vipers led by as many as 19 points (84-65) but by the end of the quarter Texas minimized that lead by nine points sending the game into the fourth quarter with a score of 96-87. 

In the fourth quarter the Vipers maximized its lead and walked away with a 133-106 victory.

Washington led the scorers with a career-high 31 points. Cassius Stanley scored 20 points from off the bench. Houston Rockets Two-Way Players Darius Days posted 18 points and eight rebounds. Posting his first double-double of the season was Trevor Hudgins with 13 points and 10 rebounds. Louis King contributed 12 points and five rebounds. Josh Reaves scored 11 points. 

For the Legends Hardy posted 25 points followed by Wright with 19 points and Dorsey with 17. Yudai Baba put up 16 points. Rounding up the list of double digits was Josh Nzeakor with 11 points and nine rebounds. 

RGV takes on the Legends once again tomorrow night at 7:30 p.m. at Comerica Center. The game may be live streamed via the nbagleague.com website.
