VIPERS WINNING STREAK SNAPPED BY REMIX

EDINBURG, Texas (Jan. 26, 2024) – The Rio Grande Valley Vipers (9-2), the NBA G League affiliate of the Houston Rockets, fell 108-104 against the Rip City Remix (8-3) on Friday night at Bert Ogden Arena.
Darius Days fueled the Vipers hot start by scoring 12 points off four three-pointers. To end the quarter RGV led Rip City 29-24.
D’Moi Hodge led the Remix in the second quarter as he put up 12 points. The visiting team outscored the home team 35-24 which resulted in a 59-52 advantage, for the Remix, at the half.
Rip City began with the lead in the third quarter but with less than six minutes on the clock the Vipers tied the game 70-70. RGV then carried the lead until there was less than one minutes left and the Remix crept in to take the upper hand with a score of 79-76.
What was once a 12-point deficit for the Vipers, quickly turned into just being down by four. With less than 20 seconds left in the game the score was set at 104-100. Despite the Vipers efforts, the team fell short and faced a 108-104 loss.
Jarrett Culver and Jalen Lecque both finished with 21 points each. Days contributed 18 points.
Ashton Hagans paved the way for the Remix with 19 points followed by George Conditt IV with a double-double with 18 points and 15 rebounds. Hodge contributed 15 points. Alex Reese had a double-double with 13 points and 15 rebounds. Romeo Weems also had a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Jazian Gortman finished with 12 points.
