VIPERS SPLIT SERIES WITH RIP CITY

EDINBURG, Texas (Jan. 27, 2024) – The Rio Grande Valley Vipers (10-2), the NBA G League affiliate of the Houston Rockets, obtained a 126-119 victory over the Rip City Remix (8-4) on Saturday night at Bert Ogden Arena.
Rip City led the Vipers 17-14 to start off the quarter, but RGV then came from behind and took over the lead to end the quarter 27-23. RGV extended its lead in the second quarter which resulted in a score of 70-52 at the half.
For the third and fourth quarter RGV continued with the upper hand until the Remix attempted to make a comeback in the last few minutes of the game but fell short of a win.
Darius Days paved the way for the Vipers with a double-double with 25 points and 11 rebounds. Joshua Obiesie had a career-high 22 points followed by Ray Spalding with 21 points and Jalen Lecque with 16 points. Both Josh Reaves and Trhae Mitchell had 11 points. John Knight III contributed 10 points.
Antoine Davis led Rip City with 27 points followed by George Conditt IV with a double-double with 24 points and 12 rebounds.
RGV will go on a 10-day road trip starting on Tuesday, Jan. 30 to take on the Sioux Falls Skyforce at Sanford Pentagon. Tip-off is set for 6:30 p.m. CST. The game may be streamed via ESPN+. For more information visit www.rgvipers.com.
