VIPERS FALL TO BLUE COATS IN GAME ONE OF FINALS

Wilmington, Del. (April 4, 2023) – The Rio Grande Valley Vipers (3-1), the NBA G League affiliate of the Houston Rockets, fell to the Delaware Blue Coats (3-0) on Tuesday night at Chase Fieldhouse during game one of the 2023 NBA G League Finals presented by YoutubeTV.
RGV opened up the game by going on a 4-0 run, but the Blue Coats came from behind and made a 9-0 run to take a 9-4 lead with 8:27 on the clock. Delaware then went on to score 32 more points while only allowing RGV to score 17 points which sent the game into the second quarter with a 41-21 lead for the home team.
In the second quarter the Blue Coats went on to extend its lead and closed the quarter with a 74-57 advantage over the Vipers.
Delaware continued to have an edge over the Vipers throughout the third quarter which allowed the team to walk away with a 110-90 lead at the end of the third.
Despite the Vipers efforts to come back in the fourth quarter, Delaware walked away with a 134-120 victory.
Houston Rockets assignment TyTy Washington Jr. paved the way for the Vipers with a double-double 34 points and 11 rebounds. Jalen Lecque finished the night with 21 points followed by Houston Rockets Two-Way player Trevor Hudgins with 19 points, Ray Spalding with 13 points and Jarrett Culver with 10.
Philadelphia 76ers assignment Jaden Springer put up 43 points for the Blue Coats followed by Philadelphia 76ers Two-Way player Mac Mclung with 35 points, Charlie Brown Jr. with 17 points and 15 rebounds, Michael Foster Jr. with 12 points and 13 rebounds, and Braxton Key with 10 points.
