VIPERS ANNOUNCE 20TH ANNIVERSARY SCHEDULE

EDINBURG, Texas (Aug. 28, 2026) – The Rio Grande Valley Vipers, the NBA G League Affiliate of the Houston Rockets, announced today the Vipers schedule for the upcoming 20th anniversary season. The schedule is divided into two parts, with each team playing 14 games in the Tip-Off Tournament followed by a 36-game regular season. 

RGV will tip-off the 2026-27 NBA G League season on Nov. 6 when the team welcomes the Austin Spurs to the Bert Ogden Arena. This matchup will be a rematch of last season’s Western Conference Quarterfinals. The game marks the start of the 14-game Tip-Off Tournament, which will culminate at the start of the 2026 NBA G League Winter Showcase in December. Team records will reset at the conclusion of the Tip-Off Tournament.

The team continues the month of November with a three-game road stretch, stopping in Oklahoma City (10th) and Frisco (13th and 15th). The Vipers will finish the month at home with matchups against the Spurs (17th), the newly rebranded Laketown Squadron (20th and 21st) and the Memphis Hustle (28th and 30th).  

In December, the Vipers will welcome the Blue to the RGV on the 2nd for the team’s annual Kids’ Day game. The Vipers will then travel to Mexico City to face the Capitanes in back-to-back games on the 7th and 8th. Before beginning the Winter Showcase Tournament, the team will make a pit stop in Kissimmee to face the Osceola Magic in back-to-back games on the 15th and 16th. After the Winter Showcase the team will travel to California to face the Santa Cruz Warriors on the 27th and 29th.

Santa Cruz will then follow the Vipers back to the RGV, in January, for two home matchups on the 2nd and 5th. The Vipers will then make a quick trip back to Oklahoma City (7th) before returning home for a five-game stretch against the Sioux Falls Skyforce (9th and 12th) and the Valley Suns (15th and 16th). The reigning Western Conference Champions and the newly rebranded Coachella Valley Lakers will close out the stretch on the 19th. The Vipers will then face another California team in Stockton on the 21st and 23rd. Former Vipers championship head coach Mahmoud Abdelfattah returns to the Valley as head coach of the Iowa Wolves on the 26th and 28th. The month will culminate with the battle of the Valleys on the 31st, continuing into Feb. 2nd as the Vipers take on the Suns in Arizona. 

In February the Vipers will travel to the home of the Wolves for back-to-back games on the 5th and 6th. After a four-game road stretch, the team will return to the RGV for a three-game stretch against the Legends (12th) and the Capitanes (16th and 17th). February comes to an end for the team with a visit to the Memphis Hustle on the 26th and 27th. 

March will feature 11 games split between five home and six away games. The Vipers will close out the regular season against the Salt Lake City Stars at Bert Ogden Arena on the 26th and 27th. 

Home games played Monday through Thursday will tip-off at 7:00 p.m. CST with the exception of the Kids’ Day game on Dec. 2 which is slated for 11:00 a.m. CST. All Friday and Saturday home games will have a 7:30 p.m. CST start time. To view the Vipers full schedule visit www.rgvipers.com
