VIPERS ANNOUNCE 2023-24 COACHING AND BASKETBALL OPERATIONS STAFF

EDINBURG, Texas (Oct. 26, 2023) – The Rio Grande Valley Vipers, the NBA G League Affiliate of the Houston Rockets, announced today the new and returning Basketball Operations and Coaching staff members for the 2023-24 season. 

Returning to their roles will be General Manager Travis Stockbridge, Head Coach Kevin Burleson, Assistant Coach Evan Harville, Assistant Athletic Trainer Craig Skinner, Strength and Conditioning Coach Christian Vasquez, Equipment Manager Benjamin Rodriguez, Basketball Operations staff Alex Dellett, Isaiah Torres and Mire Chatman.      

Joining last year’s staff is newly hired Assistant Coach Robbie Keck. Keck previously served as the Houston Rockets Coaching Assistant and Director of Player Development during the 2022-23 season. The 2021-22 season was the first season in which Keck held the position of Director of Player Development for the Rockets. 

Before being promoted to the Director position, Keck was the Rockets Player Development Assistant from 2019-21. His career with the Rockets began during the 2017-18 season when he served as a Basketball Operations intern. 

Also joining the Vipers as first year Head Athletic Trainer is Kimberly McCartney. McCartney most recently served as the Head Athletic Trainer for the USL soccer team the RGV FC Toros for the 2022 and 2023 seasons. Prior to that, she worked as the Athletic Trainer for the LMR Technical Group LLC. In 2020 she served as the Head Athletic Trainer for Florida A&M University and was previously the Assistant Athletic Trainer. 

In 2017 McCartney was an intern at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. In 2015 she served as a Graduate Intern Athletic Trainer at Abilene Christian University. From 2011-15 McCartney was a Student Athletic Trainer at the University of Alabama and spent some time interning at the University of Georgia.
