THOMAS EARNS TWO-WAY CALL-UP WITH CLEVELAND CAVALIERS

EDINBURG, Texas (Wednesday, Feb. 24, 2021) – The Cleveland Cavaliers announced today the signing of guard Brodric Thomas to a two-way deal. Thomas’ call-up is the second for the Rio Grande Valley Vipers this season, 46th overall.

The rookie started in eight games for the Vipers while averaging 16.4 points, 7.7 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 1.6 steals and 1.3 blocks per game. Thomas recorded a career-high of 27 points against Oklahoma City Blue on Feb 21 where he contributed eight rebounds, four assists, four steals and two blocks. He shot 52.6% from the field and 58.3% from beyond the arc.

On Feb. 11, Thomas recorded his first career double-double tallying 18 points, 10 rebounds. Defensively, he totaled two steals and two blocks.

Prior to being transferred to RGV, the 6-5-foot guard appeared in four games with the Rockets, averaging 2.5 points, 1.0 rebound, 1.0 assists in 6.0 minutes of action. On Dec. 26, 2020, Thomas totaled three rebounds, three assists in 10 minutes of play.
